Why hello there, forgotten Diaryland....
September 10, 2005 @ 12:21 p.m.

So, it's been a few weeks. Or, about three if you've been counting.

I've pretty much left Diaryland to rot. Which bothers me; I've used this for four years and four days now (I missed the anniversary even!), since five days before 9/11, and now I've all but scrapped it for xanga, blogger, and my [paper] journal of doom.

Ho hum.

The last week has been unbearable, if I'm honest about it. I've been overthinking things, and it makes me sad. I need to get back on top of my writing. I want to submit somewhere in the range of six or seven things to Scholastic Writing this year, see if I can't win more than two medals in nationals. Okay, so that may sound as if I'm writing for the purpose of submitting to Scholastic, but it's not; I've been writing plenty lately (which has been fantastic, I'll tell you, much better than a January to June time period of feeling unable to write), and a lot of it's more poetry than I can submit to Scholastic. There's a 100-line limit, and only one entry per person because just about everyone does poetry. But I was thinking I may submit Gunshots and possibly Waterfall, even though it's pretty old.

I stayed up until two reading a book last night. It was a stupid book, with a stupid main character (honestly, I wanted to throttle her the entire time I was reading, except at the end, where she seemed to magically grow up), but since I started it back at Christmas and have been reading pretty much nothing since (I admit that I have no excuse for that, I've just not been on top of things), it was nice to finish something. Now to finish all the other books I'm reading.

Oh, and I got an e-mail from Allan Stratton, recommending his book Chandra's Secrets. That was pretty cool, and you know, assuming that someday I get published, I'd probably do the same thing.

I don't dream of stardom, I dream of writing.

And bleh, I need breakfast. I should've remembered to set my alarm last night....
