RIP 6/18/06
June 21, 2006 @ 6:19 a.m.

School's been out for six days now. It ended on the 15th, last Thursday.

I've got a bit planned this summer. I'm working on driving, learning ColdFusion (again) and Flash/ActionScript, and sewing a skirt right now. Driving's going well, Dad's teaching me ColdFusion, I'm learning Flash from a book, and the skirt is black and white and mum's helping me with it, because I don't remember a thing about sewing from Family and Consumer Sciences.

Simba died Sunday the 18th. I really miss him. He was such a mellow kitty; we all loved him a lot. He would knead our legs anytime we lay on the couch, and since he came from a family of Jehovah's Witnesses, he was always completely and utterly baffled when we brought in a Christmas tree... but he loved them. He would sit under it and be spotted different colors from the lights. He had curly belly fur. And a bunch of nicknames: Simmy, Simkin, Kinny cat, orange blob, Twinkletoes, and Simbayah. I really miss him.

I have a job interview at nine this morning. It's for Kmart, so it's nothing too major, but I just really hope I get this job. And I hope the fact that I'll be gone next week doesn't deter them. I really need the money for Kenyon Review's summer workshop next summer. (I'm gonna just die if I raise all that money and then don't get accepted to the program. From mid-May on, my life has been shaped around how I'm going to get into that program. On the bright side, if I don't get in, I'll have $2000 to sp... er... save for college. At Kenyon. So either way, really, Kenyon ends up with my summer job cash.

Funny how the call for the interview came the day after I decided "I don't want to work this summer, mum." O_o;;

Good thing I have a hiring certificate, 'cause there's *no way* they'd hire me otherwise, y'know. ("Now remember, to get this hiring certificate, you need above 70% in *all* classes." "Er, that's not a problem, ma'am.")
